Trimethylsilylethynyl-Substituted Pyrene Doped Materials as Improved Fluorescent Sensors towards Nitroaromatic Explosives and Related Compounds

The well-known fluorophore, namely 1,3,6,8-tetrakis[(trimethylsilyl)ethynyl]pyrene, has been studied profoundly as a fluorescent sensor toward nitroaromatic compounds in solutions and vapor phase. Three prototypes of materials for sensing were prepared via electrospinning drop-casting onto the melamine formaldehyde foam with fluorophore pure solid or dopant polystyrene matrix. It shown that this based on it have high detection limits within range 10−8 to 10−9 M acetonitrile solution up ppb model, expanding Frisch’s permeation was utilized characterize fluorescence response relative concentration duration exposure vapor. All can be used exhibiting good sensitivity selectivity original hand-made sniffer detecting nitro-containing explosives phase real-time application.
